To The Point PDX Practitioner Spotlight: Liesl Molnar, LMT
How did you get started on your path to becoming a bodyworker?
I dreamt of becoming a massage therapist for a long time. After years working in the corporate world, I decided to go for it. My formal education began at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon. Since graduating in 2019, I’ve continued to learn and grow as a professional. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to study and mentor with some incredible practitioners and educators in the areas of medical massage, structural integration, Reiki healing, and craniosacral techniques.
How would you describe your approach to bodywork?
My first job is to listen deeply to your tissues. I believe our bodies are wise, but sometimes they need gentle assistance to help them let go of restrictions and painful patterns. I don’t believe the body is a machine. I see bodywork as a conversation and sacred energy work of body, mind, and spirit.
I offer an integrative style of bodywork that aims to offer pain relief, recovery from trauma, and more freedom of movement. Sessions are customized to each person and may include somatic work resulting in relaxation, grounding, and balancing.
What can people expect from you as a practitioner?
I strive to create a space where people can feel safe, comfortable, and fully present in their bodies. You can expect to be welcomed, listened to, gently held and supported. I’m honored by the trust given to me by my clients and aim to be trauma-informed in everything I do.
What do you like to do when you’re not in the treatment room?
My husband and I try to get out in nature with our goldendoodle as much as possible. We really enjoy hiking, foraging, forest bathing, and beachcombing. I also love to cook and explore the food and art scene in Portland and Vancouver.
