We take worksite wellness seriously here at to The Point PDX – the Portland acupuncture solution to employee happiness. And we’re thrilled to be able to walk our talk by welcoming Herbert Bhody Neufeld to the office.
In a 2012 study, employees who were around dogs in the workplace reported feeling less stressed than employees who have dogs but left them at home, according to researched from Virgina Commonwealth University. The study also found that pets triggered workplace interactions that would not normally take place.
So, if you’re looking for a Portland Acupuncturist who takes a dose of puppy love every day at work, schedule an appointment at To The Point PDX today. (Note: we respect your right to no like puppies. Herbie is only allowed to see patients with their express permission so do not feel pressured to like Herbie.)
Herbie generously took some time out of his day for a brief interview on what it’s like to be the President of Happiness this Portland acupuncture clinic.
Q: Herbie, what’s your favorite part of being at To The Point PDX?
Herbie: Greeting the patients, getting pets behind the ear and lots of belly rubs. If there isn’t a patient in the lobby, my favorite favorite thing is to take many many naps under my mom’s (Office Manager Sasha Neufeld’s) desk.
Q: Tell me what you thought about acupuncture in Portland before you started working here?
I was skeptical of acupuncture because sharp metal objects give me the shivers (as do brooms and loud noises), but I’m always ready to try new things. Turns out, acupuncture doesn’t hurt and even works on my puppy friends.
Q: Herbie, what would you tell patient who are nervous about their first treatment?
I’d tell them to chillax-man! I’d tell them that Sarah is a Portland acupuncturists who is really gentle, nice (and gives great belly rubs). It’s okay to be nervous, but don’t let that get in the way of you trying it!
Q: Herbie, do you have any advice for patients coming to their first acupuncture treatment at To The Point PDX?
Be sure you eat small snack before and after your treatment to make your treatment last. An apple with almond butter or a small granola bar would do the trick. But take it from me – stay away from eating the garbage from the street because that will make your stomach ache and you’ll demand even MORE tummy rubs. But acupuncture is really really good at helping stomach aches, so you’re in the right place if you do decide to snack on a banana peel.
Q: Herbie, do you have any favorite Chinese herbs?
I like to eat all the things, including cords, bully sticks, treats and delicious garbage. But… if I had to choose a favorite Chinese formula, I’d choose Gan Mao Ling. This formula contains over 75 percent antiviral medicinals – so it keeps my mom happy and healthy when she is feeling run down or about to catch a cold.
Q: And finally, what’s your favorite Beyonce song Herbie?
Love On Top. Beyonce is great at keeping it one hundred.
